The theme of the evening is helping local youth move into the workforce with the skills they need to be successful. To that end, there will be a cocktail hour 6-7 p.m. for networking and solutions-based discussions, followed by a four-course dinner at 7 p.m. The menu will feature DreamTree Farms greens and Ziggy’s frozen yogurt, from DreamTree’s two social enterprise ventures.

Steve Fuhlendorf, Head of the Taos Entrepreneurial Network, said,

“The board of directors and I are excited about the opportunity to team with DreamTree in honoring our youth allies and highlighting workforce development, as a strong workforce is essential to entrepreneurial success.”

The event serves as a bridge between education, non-profit, and for-profit organizations committed to assisting local youth in the transition to adulthood. Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2019 Youth Ally of the Year Award. The award recipient will be honored at the dinner.

Solutions to be discussed at the dinner include education and certification programs, job shadowing opportunities, internships, and jobs for local youth.

“We know our local businesses want to employ local youth and ensure those youth have the skills to succeed. We want to recognize business leaders for their work supporting young people, and kick-off a bigger conversation on how to bring the entrepreneurial and non-profit worlds closer together,” says Catherine Hummel, Executive Director at DreamTree.
